Best xmas presents an artist could ask for!

My sister, Pia Viglietti, was in Los Angeles over October/November for the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology conference (SVP). While there she met Luis V. Rey, an award- winning paleoartist, and William Stout- a fantasy artist and illustrator with decades of experience working in entertainment and motion picture design, comic art, book illustration, mural painting and paleoart.

Luis Rey and William Stout both drew me quick (and amazing!) sketches. Stout also signed the books of his my sister bought for me. Stout's work has been an inspiration to me since I was in my teens so it is an incredible feeling to own these personally signed books of his!
Books, Top: William Stout, Prehistoric Life Murals, Dinosaur Sketchbook Volume Four. Kirk Johnson and Ray Troll, Cruisin' the Fossil Freeway. (Ray Troll is another personal art inspiration of mine)
Books, Bottom: William Stout, Charles R. Knight Sketchbook- Volumes 1- 3

Grandpa Saurus and Granny Dodo

I should note that Grandpa Saurus is not a dinosaur but a Dimetrodon, a member of the Pelycosaur group whose descendants became Therapsids and later early mammals. He is the great, great, great etc. grandfather to all of us mammals!
